GANDAMOOOO, GANDAMOO

Random mecha (if the Gundam can be considered "random" and not "default"). It was going to be a quick torso but it turned into a slightly more detailed perspective head instead.

I mirrored a few lines since I was in a hurry, but I mostly drew everything twice for line practice (it used to take me hundreds of attempts to get smooth lines, this time I got it in maybe 2-3 tries... I must be improving).

I totally can't draw its 'mouth' though...

Alieny

Wanted to paint something this time, and it turned into this.

It's not much, but I think its pretty expressive considering it only took about 10 minutes... Still need to speed up :(

I have no idea what it is though...

Bug-bot colored

On this one, I am trying a new colouring technique. A little different than what I usually do, which is creating blocks of colour. Next one, I'll try a combination of both. 

This character transforms into a ladybug, but I don't have a name for her yet.   

Normal service resumed

I'm back from being "busy" to plain old "lazy", so I'll be doing more than 0 posts per week.

More Touhou sprite concepts. I did more than I'm even planning on using in the end, since they're kinda fun to draw. I think they're pretty recogniseable, even when this simplified... but they'll be way smaller than this.

More tomorrow...

Recently I've gotten into a situation where I get to commute.

It's a good opportunity to get access to some unsuspecting live models.
So I'll be doing this while I have the chance :)

BTW, there wasn't really an elf riding on public transportation.

TF animated style: Sweeps

Since we have to make a drawing a day, during this run I am going to try and do 50 different animated characters. This will be great practice for me, because I will be using my inking and colouring skills. Basically what I'll do is re-design characters that already exist from the TF universe. So here's the first one based on the Sweeps, except my version is female.

graphic Design Work day2

Well, here's the 2nd spread of the underwater design finished. Now back to drawing.

 

O darkened storm clouds, loose thy blade!

Mm, just kinda started randomly drawing a pose, and then decided Morrigan would be the best fit.. and then didn't feel like just having her left arm dangling, so I gave her a sword... which in turn inspired the background, and that in turn inspired the title of this post. ;p 10 points if you can recognize the sword from another game. (And points don't matter, and the Tales of the Abyss spell quote isn't too relevant either.)

I still wonder if I'm shading the purple parts of her wings correctly.. and maybe one day I'll stick to a consistent bat pattern rather than placing them randomly each time...

I wanted to horizontally flip the picture too (simply since I'm guessing Morrigan would more likely hold a sword in her right), yet for some reason, it seems to look worse that way....

Four-eyes robo

Trying to get faster at this painting thing. This one took about an hour or so...

Started with just the idea of a robot with four red eyes, and somehow it managed to develop into this.

Why am I not sleeping? :(
